City’s flagship programs for 2021, bared

15 January 2021 – The city government’s proposed flagship projects this year include the development of a sports facility and implementation of a tourism resiliency recovery plan spearheaded by the city administration office (CADMO) under Engr. Bonifacio Dela Pena.

Thus, reported City Planning and Development Office (CPDO) coordinator Archt. Donna Rillera-Tabangin during the management committee meeting of local officials at City Hall, January 13, led by Mayor Benjamin Magalong.

Others are modernization of the public library under the City Mayor’s Office; establish 10 functional social welfare development office, operation on family life resource centers; universal health care program of the health services office; organization development and human resource information system by the human resource management office.

Implementation of the urban forest management plan and city sanitation improvement project by the environment parks management office; full computerization and compliance by the accounting office; market modernization, updating of revenue code, and speeding up of tax collection system by treasury office.

Command Center implementation and technical support for flood early warning system under disaster risk reduction management office; bike lane, sidewalk, public transport stops and route plan, traffic signalization of engineering office.

Also included are automation services by the budget office; institutionalization of 4H program and urban agriculture of the veterinary and agriculture office; updating the citly land use plan (CLUP) and zoning ordinance, community based monitoring system by CPDO.

Tabangin said all local government programs, projects and activities are implemented in line with the city’s 16-point strategic goals that serve as an action plan for 2019-2022.

These are speeding-up government action; revitalizing the environment; innovating peace and order; aggressive traffic management; responsive education program; youth empowerment; expanding health and social services;  responsible tourism; and enlivened culture, arts, crafts and heritage.
