Seminar Workshop for Solemnizing Officers

To update the knowledge and ability of the Solemnizing Officer in the entire City of Baguio and nearby municipalities, this office in coordination with the Philippine Statistics Authority, Benguet Regional Office and the Association of Baguio-Benguet Civil Registrars, conducted Seminar Workshop for Solemnizing Officers.  This was held last November 20, 2015 at Health Services Office, Conference Hall.

There were eighty nine, (89) solemnizing officers coming from different congregations and churches actively participated the training.  The semina-workshop aimed to update the solemnizing officers’ on civil registration laws for marriages.  It also aimed to orient the participants on proper filling up of Marriage Certificate Forms.  Issues and concerns relative to marriage laws, requisites for marriage applications and other concerns were raised and answered by the team headed by our City Civil Registrar.  Basic information on Correction of Clerical Error Laws or the RA 9048 was also covered. 

Lecture on the proper filling up of Birth Certificate Form was also conducted at Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center last December of the same year.  This was made possible through the invitation of the Medical records Staff of the same hospital.  Around twenty hospital personnel attended the lecture which composed of doctors, nurses and staff of the medical records concerned in the preparation of birth certification form.
