How to secure for a working permit?

It is very important that before securing for a working permit, the applicant must already have his/her Community Tax Certificate (CTC) and at least two 2x2 ID pictures.

STEPS IN THE PROCESSING OF ONE'S WORKING PERMIT:

1. Proceed first at the Health Services Office (HSO) and get a Working Permit Form then undergo different medical laboratory examination;

2. Proceed at the City Treasurer's Office (CTO) to pay for the Police Clearance (for local employment-Php100.00; for employment abroad-Php200.00);

3. Secure the police clearance at the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO);

4. Go back at the CTO to pay the working permit fee (ranging from Php50.00 to Php100.00 depending on the job);

5. Proceed at the Public Employment and Services Office (PESO) to fill up the Skills Registry System (SRS);

6. Proceed at the Office of the City Mayor for the city mayor's signature.

How do I process my business permit?

Secure an application form from the Permits and Licensing Division. Fill out the form and proceed to the Encoding Section . All information must be complete and sketch of business location be affixed at the back of the form. The encoded application, now bearing a tracking number will now be forwarded the City Planning and Development Office (CPDO). After the approval from CPDO, the application will be queued to the different offices (City Environment and Parks Management Office, City Buildings and Architecture Office, City Health Office, City Treasurer's Office Real Property Tax Division, and Campaign & Investigation Division, Bureau of Fire) for approval.

What are the requirements in processing business permit?

a. Barangay business clearance ;
b. Lease contract / award of notice / authorization / mall certification , if leasing;
c. DTI for trade name registration;
d. SEC registration for corporation ;
e. Proof of ownership , for real estate lessor ;
f. Certification from CEPMO if within premises ;
g. COB 1-90 , for retailing of liquor ;
h. Health certificates prior to approval of application ;
i. Fire safety inspection certificate from the fire department ;
j. Real property tax of current year must paid ;

What is "capital investment"? How much will I pay?

"Capital Investment" is the capital which a person employs in any undertaking, or which he contributes to the capital of partnership, corporation, or any other juridical entity or association in a particular taxing jurisdiction " ) tax ordinance 2000-01.

In the case of a newly started business falling under Section 12 a to n, the initial tax shall be FIFTY PERCENT of one percent (50% of 1%) of the total capital investment.

How do I renew my business permit? Will I be penalized if I will not renew my permit on time?

The Mayor's Permit shall be granted for a period of not more than one (1) year and shall expire on the 31st day of December following the issuance of sticker as proof of renewal of the business permit the date of issuance thereof unless revoked or surrendered earlier.
The Mayor's Permit Fee to engage in business shall be duly renewed every year in accordance with the following schedule:
Those whose family names, corporate or company names beginning with the letters:
A to H on or before the LAST WORKING day of January
I to P on or before the LAST WORKING day of February
Q to Z on or before March 20 and succeeding years thereafter.

Failure to renew the Mayor's permit within the prescribed period shall subject the taxpayer to a twenty-five percent (25%) surcharge of the permit fee. " ( tax_ord-2000-01 )

What are the requirments for the renewal of business permit?

How to surrender a business permit? What are the requirments?

1. Fill out application for retirement of business.

2. Submit retirement form to PLD personnel to be transacted in the eBPLS .
Attach the following
2.a letter of intent to retire business
2.b if retirement is not processed by the permittee, secure authorization to process retirement
2.c for corporation , secure secretaries board resolution
2.d lost permit, secure affidavit of lost

3. Proceed to the assessment and pay taxes due.

How to apply for "Change Management" ?

1. Renew existing permit
2. Fill out application for change management , have it encoded then proceed to payment ,
3. Proceed to the Permits and Licensing Division, attach requirements secured for the new management.

How to apply for "Change Location" ?

1. Renew existing permit
2. Fill out application for change location , have it encoded at PLD.
3. Wait for the approval of different offices
4. Pay taxes / fees due .
5. Proceed to the Permits and Licensing Division , attach requirements secured for the new location.

How to apply for "Additional Line of Business" ?

1. Renew existing permit
2. Fill out application for change location , have it encoded at Permits and Licensing Division.
3. Wait for the approval of different offices
4. Pay taxes / fees due .
5. Proceed to the Permits and Licensing Division , attach requirements secured for the new line of business.

How to apply for change of line or addtional line of business if within the vicinity of city market?

Secure Certificate of Award approved by Baguio City Market Authority (BCMA) prior to the application for change line or additional line of business.
