Mayor vows full nutrition programs funding and support

BAGUIO CITY- Mayor Reinaldo Bautista, Jr. vowed full support for all nutrition programs of the city, during the Baguio City Nutrition Committee (BCNC) first quarter meeting at the Baguio Health Department (BHD) last Wednesday.
He also lauded the dedication and enthusiasm of the city nutrition workers in fulfilling their duties, specially in the grassroots level.

WHO CGS standards for implementation in Baguio

BAGUIO CITY –The city shall conform with the new World Health Organization (WHO) child growth standards (CGS), Mayor Bautista said, being informed of its implementation during the first quarter Baguio City Nutrition Committee (BCNC) meeting at the Baguio Health Department (BHD) last Wednesday.
Accordingly, the WHO CGS is the “single international standard that represents the best description of physiological growth for all children from birth to five years of age.”

Lifting of exp’tal double coding for AH trancoville PUJs proposed

BAGUIO CITY – Councilor Betty Lourdes Tabanda through a proposed resolution has requested Mayor Reinaldo Bautista Jr. to lift the impending double coding scheme for Public Utility Jeepneys (PUJs) in areas where odd-even number schemes are implemented.

BAGUIO CITY – Some things do last beyond one’s lifetime.

Yu Hwa Ping, the controversial Fil-Chinese businessman who never gave up his quest to develop a parcel of land along Chuntug Street had reason to celebrate January 25, when the Office of the President (OP) granted his wish to secure title over the property.

Migration education program on March 9

BAGUIO CITY – The Commission on Filipino Overseas (COF) headed by Executive Director Jose Maria Palabrica shall be conducting its annual community education program on migration in the Provinces of Ifugao and Benguet, including Baguio City from March 6 to 12.

BAGUIO CITY – The city council during its session last week deemed it proper to meet tomorrow, Monday, with La Trinidad and other Benguet jeepney associations, the Baguio City Police Office and concerned stakeholders; as to the experimental traffic scheme being undertaken at Magsaysay avenue.

city marks women’s month

BAGUIO CITY – The city will join the nation in celebrating Women’s Month in March with a line-up of activities dubbed “Kababaihan Festival” focused on the theme, “Babae: Tagumpay Ka ng Bayan.”
Mayor Reinaldo Bautista Jr. called on all baranay council and women’s groups, local government units and national agencies to actively participate in the month-long celebration even as he also asked the private sector to share their resources by sponsoring or conducting activities devoted to women.

Sports: barrio school bags “panagbenga” arnis championship

Remote Ampucao National High School in Itogon, Benguet fought to a 5-1-3. gold-silver-bronze medal harvest in the full contact events to capture the Baguio Panagbenga Arnis Invitational Championship last Feb. 21 at the Malcolm Square .

Renan Alindayo gave the icing for Ampucao by topping the “anyo” (form) event of the meet conducted by the National Institute of Information and Technology as a community-led project for the Baguio Flower Festival.
