Family Life Resource Centers and facilitators recognized

In sustaining the city’s program in helping and facilitating the after care of drug surrenderers in Baguio, the city government here spearheaded by the city social welfare and development office and in partnership with other government agencies, the different established Family Life Resource Centers (FLRC) as well as facilitators were recognized last week.

The said FLRCs were established by trained pastors so as to accommodate the drug surrenderees in the city.

Out of the established 33 FLRCs, there are only 13 active FLRCs serving 123 PSUD clients.

Hence CSWD officer Betty Fangasan urged the surrenderees to undergo the various sessions under the faith based partners and avail the other programs of the city intended for their transformation.
Mayor Mauricio Domogan disclosed that there are 2,390 surrenderees in Baguio, 406 of which are pushers and 1984 are drug users.
On the other hand, the Baguio City Police Office has conducted 204 buy bust operations, apprehending 180 pushers and 24 users.
Also, drug surrenderees are encouraged and urged to participate in the city’s Integrated Participatory Community Building program for them to fully transform and live a productive life.
