BAGUIO CITY – The city wide search for the Best Performing Barangays officially started Friday here.
The search will cover the period January to December 2011 where at least 29 barangays have confirmed their participation in the search.
These are barangays Alfonso Tabora (PB Alexander Yan), BGH compound (PB Ronaldo Garcia), City Camp Proper (PB Aurora Abellera), East Modernsite (PB Nenita Trinidad), Fairview (PB Justina Andaya), Greenwater (PB Magdalena Lambac), Happy Homes-Lucban (PBEva Marie Fianza), Hillside (PBFerdinand Bucad), Holy Ghost Proper (PB James Mastinggal), Irisan (PB Thomas Dumalti), Loakan Proper (PB Jesusa Viscaya), Lower Rock Quarry (PB Carlos Ananayo), Lucnab (PB Lolita Salcedo), Manuel Roxas (PB Elsie Magdalene Tindoc), Middle Quezon Hill (PB Edita Ibarra), Middle Quirino Hill (PB Ignacio Gallente), MRR-Queen of Peace (PB Catherine Quinones), Pacdal (PB Roberto Medina), Pinsao Pilot Project (PB Sotero Dulaycan), Pinget (PB Teresita De Guzman), Salud Mitra (PB Nida Galace), San Roque Village (PB Jerry Uy), South Drive (PB Maribel Cagalawan), Upper General Luna (PB Julita Sagun), Upper Q.M. (PB Andres Rimorque, Jr.), Upper Rock Quarry (PB Luis Badecao, Jr.), Victoria Village (PB Lilian Somera and West Bayan Park (PB Margarita Marinas).
The Board of Judges is composed of representatives from the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), City Health Services Office (CHSO), Office of the Social Welfare and Development Officer(OCSWDO), City Planning and Development Office(CPDO), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR-CENRO), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Association of Barangay Council (ABC) and Non-Government Organization (NGO).
The judges have already begun in-house assessments of the barangay entries last Friday (June 8) and will continue with their field assessments, validation, tabulation and finalization of results from June 18 to June 28.
Post evaluation is set July 10 where the best performing barangay will be selected by the judges, formal announcement will be at a later date.
The search is based on criterias set which includes barangay administration and governance, environmental management and protection, infrastructure development, peace and order, public safety, health and nutrition program management and social welfare development among others.***paul rillorta
